CNIT

CNIT is a Beneficiary in the SpecX Doctoral Network and will recruit three Doctoral Candidates (DC6, DC8, and DC9), hosted respectively at its research units within the Universities of Palermo, Rome Tor Vergata, and Trento. These projects will address “Spectrum sensing for edge resource analytics” (DC6), “Spectrum resource allocation for integrated communication and sensing” (DC8), and “Network analytics of massive Ambient IoT deployments” (DC9). CNIT will coordinate research, supervision, and training activities across these units, leveraging their complementary expertise in wireless communications, sensing and localisation, network intelligence, and machine learning. Through its national network of laboratories and advanced research infrastructure, CNIT will foster cross-disciplinary collaboration and innovation in spectrum management and intelligent connectivity for future 6G systems.

The National Inter-University Consortium for Telecommunications (CNIT) is a non-profit consortium that unites 38 Italian universities and 7 national laboratories to promote cutting-edge research in telecommunications and information technologies. CNIT plays a central role in Italy’s academic ICT ecosystem, fostering collaboration and innovation through participation in hundreds of EU, NATO, and national projects, including ERC grants and MSCA networks. Its research spans wireless communications, network virtualisation, sensing, and AI-driven connectivity, supported by extensive laboratory infrastructure across its partner institutions.
